- Day 1: Luxor Highlights
Around 05:00–06:00, you will be picked up from your hotel lobby The journey begins in an air-conditioned vehicle along the desert road toward Luxor. After about two hours, there will be a short break at a rest stop.
The trip continues through Qena into the lush, densely populated Nile Valley, offering a glimpse into everyday life in Egypt.
At approximately 10:00, you will visit the Karnak Temple complex, known as the largest temple complex worldwide. Highlights include the Great Hypostyle Hall and the Sacred Lake. A German-speaking Egyptologist will bring over 2,000 years of history to life during the tour.
Next is the Luxor Temple, located centrally, featuring the distinctive Abu el-Haggag Mosque built directly atop ancient columns—a remarkable fusion of ancient and Islamic architecture.
You will then take a motorboat across the Nile, viewing Luxor from the water with the backdrop of the glowing Theban Mountains on the west bank.
Lunch will be served at an Egyptian restaurant, featuring traditional local dishes.
Finally, you will check in at a 5-star hotel in Luxor, with free time to freshen up, rest, or take a stroll along the Nile promenade.
- Day 2: More Ancient Sites
Breakfast at the hotel is included. Afterward, the trip continues to West Thebes.
The Valley of the Kings is the royal burial site housing the tombs of New Kingdom pharaohs, including the final resting place of Tutankhamun. An Egyptologist will be on hand to explain the hieroglyphs and wall paintings in detail.
At Deir el-Bahari, you will visit the impressive terraced temple built by Hatshepsut, one of history’s most prominent female rulers, carved directly into the limestone cliffs of Thebes.
The Memnon Colossi, two statues about 18 meters tall representing Amenhotep III, are also featured on this route and lend their name to Memnon Reisen.
Lunch will be served in West Thebes before the return journey begins.
